Coloring for Adults

It’s the latest fad, or craze, or whatever you want to call it; coloring pages for adults!  It is said to be relaxing and fun.  So I tried it, and you know what?  It was fun!  Super sharp colored pencils, wonderful original art by local Artist Diane Brown, all printed on nice art paper, and interesting conversation with ladies from the community.  Our little library hosted the event.

Afterwards, I went out and bought some more colored pencils.   And not just any colored pencils, Prismacolor ones; not cheap, more like, “like how much do I owe you?” colors.   I’m not sure what I plan to do with them yet, but I am excited to have them!    I just need to keep myself from going back to purchase more.  That is, for a while… 😉

If you haven’t colored since you were a kid, I highly recommend trying coloring again!  If the more detailed and intricate designs intimidate you, pull out one of your kids books and go to town!  And it’s a great activity that you can do with your kids.  Make it a family night, or an afternoon together.  You never know, it might get a conversation started.  Give it a go!  No artistic ability required.

  1. I’ve been tempted to get some of the nice books at Sams. I love to color. But my problem–I hate making decisions–like what color do I color this, or that. I get bogged down in the details.

    1. I say go for it!
It’s just a coloring book. It’s a great place to experiment and try things out. And if you don’t like it, flip the page and try again! 🙂
